I’ve been flying to Taiwan almost every year for my entire life and this was the first time I’d ever flown through Hong Kong. I’m looking forward to actually visiting the city one day. Steamed buns are one of my favorite things to eat in Taiwan and the ones from this stall (apparently quite famous) are delicious. They make two kinds - pork and cabbage - and both are yummy. There are a number of stalls selling steamed buns at Shilin Yeshi, but this is the only stall where people line up to buy them.

I’m posting this from the airport on my way home where I’m currently enjoying my last meal in Taiwan (stir-fried noodles and lemon aiyu jelly ice). Next post will be from California!

There are a number of reasons why I came to Taiwan, but I timed my trip specifically so that it would coincide with this lantern festival. Seeing hundreds of lanterns being lit up and released simultaneously was truly one of the most beautiful things I have ever witnessed.
